INCENTIVE BONUSES

Incentive bonuses are paid to policeman that have excelled in their work. Station Commissioners are solely responsible for nominating these outstanding policeman.Rumours have been circulating regarding the allocating of incentive bonuses to policeman. The powers that be sit behind closed doors and nominate their friends and braai buddies whilst the real hardworking policeman (there are so few these days) gets left out in the cold. This has a negative impact on the communities at large as the boys in blue that patrol our streets and keep us safe become DE-moralised. It also seems that some of these lazy, corrupt, self-absorbed, lying, good for nothing, waste of taxpayers money (I could go on) get these bonuses on a regular and unfair basis.

I WONDER IF TOWN HILL POLICE STATION HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.

HARRASSED BY A WHITE MAN

Reports have been filtering through of a white male with blond hair going door to door begging.Generally this would not be a problem , however it seems that the male aggressively demands large sums of money. do not encourage this man or get into a conflict situation with him. Rather summon the police immediately. Due to poverty and the high unemployment rate people are becoming deperate and theres no telling what this man is capable off.

ARE OUR PARKS SAFE

Gone are the days of taking your family to the park for a picnic or just to watch the children run around. Our parks have become a haven for criminals. Chase valley Park a.k.a Hatcheries Park Has long since been closed to the public due to the numerous robberies and armed robberies that were taking place.(I wonder who benefited from the smart but useless fence that was put up at Chase valley Park) Of concern is that recently incidents have occurred in Ferncliffe Nature Reserve and Wylie park.

Cascades Centre

According to a news paper article featured in THE NATAL WITNESS,Cascades Centre has been sold. This apparently is not true so says Cascades management. Nu Metro however will definitley be closing its doors this month and there are rumours that a prominent gym franchise will be moving in.

Safety Tips at home

Keep all your doors and security gates locked all the time, even when there is more than one person at home. All main doors should be fitted with strong locks. Keep your garden well lit and trimmed to eliminate any possible hiding places. Ensure that your house number is clearly marked on your wall/fence/gate so that it can be easily seen. Consider installing a burglar alarm and panic button, burglar bars and security gates as well as remote control gates and garage doors to prevent you from having to step out of your car when leaving and returning home. When leaving on a holiday, cancel all newspaper and magazine deliveries. Try to install timers that will automatically switch lights on and off in your house to make it appear as though there is someone home in the evening. Call upon a reliable friend to house-sit for you if possible. Ask neighbours to keep an eye on your home and do the same in return.
Never open the door to strangers and alert your family members or friends if you are sending someone unknown to them to their house. Keep cash, valuables and firearms in safe boxes that are securely bolted down. Make it difficult for criminals to operate in your neighbourhood! Report any suspicious persons, noises or sounds to the police immediately.
